In the week beginning October 17th, ADVANCE conducted 7 workshops with depots covering a radius of 40 miles from the Lichfield hub. These have produced a wealth of information about how depots manage their resources and make decisions based on actual and predicted pallet numbers. The focus and context of the workshops were finalised after an all-day in-depth interview on Friday, October 14th, with a senior operations manager from the Palletways hub. The outcome lays the foundations for integrating independent depot decisions with centralised hub decisions. It is a major step forward because it puts in place the final piece in the puzzle to be solved by ADVANCE.
